The CFC Singles for Christ is actively involved in working with the poor of society through CFC's program, GAWAD KALINGA (in Tagalog which means "to give care").The main initiative and partner of GK in Canada in this work is ANCOP International Inc. (Answering the Cry of the Poor), based in Toronto, Ontario.
ANCOP is the network of international organizations that supports the work of GAWAD KALINGA in the Philippines and other Third World countries. ANCOP offices have been set up in 20 donor areas abroad to be the fundraising and sponsor relations arm of Gawad Kalinga. If you live outside the Philippines and would like to support the work of Gawad Kalinga, please contact the ANCOP office in your country of residence.
In SFC we must find our place in this noble work that GOD has commissioned us to do and have fulfillment in life through the poor which Christ is present. We cannot be concerned only with our career and love life. We need to see the bigger picture. Subsequently, SFC is in that phase to contribute to the success of GK777. We will maximize our time, talent and treasure to ensure that we meet our allocated targets.
We have now set up our SFC ANCOP Marketing Groups in all CFC areas of Canada.
SFC's other major involvement is T.E.A.CH (Teachers Empowered to Affect CHildren) which is GK's volunteer program for Education. It aims to invite young, single professionals who would like to serve the poor in the Philippines for at least three months to one year (renewable). They will be sent to a Gawad Kalinga village to serve in any of the three GK educational programs (Sibol, Sagip, SIGA) present in each site. They will be living with a Couples for Christ family (board & lodging) and will be absorbed into a Singles for Christ household for spiritual support.
